You wanted the best you got the best , the hottest band in the world.........KISS
!
After firing the other 2 members of Wicked lester Gene Simmons (bass, vocalist)
and Paul stanley (rythem guitar, vocalist) brought in their future drummer peter criss through an ad in Rolling Stone. After
putting an ad in village voice Ace frehley answered the call as their new lead guitarist. When the band was completed they
boasted the new name KISS.The most noted thing about KISS is their Theatrics that icluded dry ice, smoke bombs, elaborate lighting, blood
spitting and fire breathing, their outrageously flamboyant costumes and makeup and their Fist pounding hard rock, ballads
powered by loud guitars, cloying melodies and sweeping strings. After signing a record deal with casablanca (re-named Mercury
Records) Kiss released their debut self titled album in february of 1974 which failed along with their following albums
hotter then hell and dressed to kill. After the 3 failures Kiss released Alive then they were well on their way of
being rock and roll legends.Kiss released another album then all the members created their own solo albums Gene Simmon's being
the most sold and Peter Criss's being the least sold. They made many more albums but after Destroyer they started to go
downhill.Peter Criss left Kiss to start a solo career and Ace Frehley left because he got tired of playing the same material
over and over again. They ultimately got replaced by Eric Carr (drums) and Vinnie Vincent(lead guitar). They toured
together for a while then Eric Carr was diagnosed with cancer. Eric Carr died later that year in 1991 and was replaced
by Eric Singer who is the drummer for kiss to this day.Vincent left the band quickly and was replaced by Mark St.John but
after 1 album he left kiss. after that Bruce Kulik replaced him. They toured together once then the original members of kiss
got together for one more album which was Psycho Circus then they went on the farewell tour of 2000 and then Kiss broke
up YET AGAIN in the middle of the tour and that was the last time they were together.

Update: March ,13 , 2005
Since then KISS {Gene Simmons and Paul Stanely} have recruited Eric Singer again
and long time KISS ally Tommy Thayer . Eric plays the drums and wears Peter's costume and make-up while Tommy does the same
except with Ace's. This has displeased a lot of former KISS fans.
And here's my opinion on KISS now:
KISS has released SEVERAL greatest hits albums since then but not a single new
song. Yet Gene Simmons released a solo album and Paul Stanely is working on one. They have also done lots of appearences
and charity and crap. Fact is KISS is just living off their old songs right now and in every single way KISS has gone just
plain commercial so in other words:
KISS HAS SOLD OUT!
There. Sorry Matt but you didn't quite have it finished there and I wanted to add
my two cents anyway.
